Irony

Irony is one of my favorite things, and the irony of this is not lost on me.

A Step Back to Step Forward

I realize I've not posted in a while, but that doesn't mean I've given up. I've been working on some personal life stuff, finding a way to strengthen my overall position as a means to further projects like this, put them on solid footing. To that end, I've been looking to go to grad school and get an MBA. This will help me to better understand the business side of the whole "non profit" world, and hopefully give me some more credibility when it comes time to get people to open their hearts, minds, and wallets.
One of the first things people told me when I first started this project is to start small. I've skewed my perspective a bit and have come up with a new plan of attack. Since politicians in the LA area won't listen to me because I don't live in their district, I've decided to create something in my area (Orange County) and work from there. I've made some contacts on the city council where I live, so I'm formulating a new idea. Recent Memorial Day activities further solidified my plan, so I'll post more once it starts rolling a bit.
Also, thanks to Angela for keeping me honest and reminding me that I need to post and that someone out there is indeed watching!

One Year Later....

It's been about a year since I started this blog and began this mission in earnest. I spent most of the first half of 2009 working almost exclusively on this, the second half trying to take what I learned and put it into motion. I've come up with a plan to get all of this going, as well getting people back on their feet. In short, I'm trying to teach a man to fish instead of just feeding him for a day. Let's see how year 2 of this grand experiment turns out :)
